Terms of Service

Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Game. If you are in the EU/EEA or another region with a higher digital-consent age, you must meet that age or have a parent/guardian’s consent. By using the Game you confirm you meet these requirements.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate registration details and keep them current. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

Credits and purchases

• Credits are a virtual, in-game balance used to generate walks and unlock clues. They have no cash value, are not legal tender, and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Credits and any paid items are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use in the Game; you don’t own them.
• Except where required by law, purchases are final and non-refundable, and unused credits are not redeemable for cash.
• Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies (e.g. EU consumers), you agree that by requesting immediate access to purchased digital content you may lose that 14-day withdrawal right once delivery begins.
• Prices and credit costs may change; changes don’t affect credits you’ve already bought.

Your content and ownership

You keep ownership of the photos and place submissions you upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display Your Content for the purpose of operating, moderating, improving, and promoting the Game. You confirm you have the right to submit it and that it doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights or privacy.

Promoting the Game means we may show Your Content on our website, in app-store listings, in social posts, and in press material. That is the whole of it — we don’t license Your Content to anyone else for their own advertising, and we don’t sell it. Six limits apply every time, and they are commitments, not intentions:

• A person looks at every photo before it is used. Nothing is picked automatically.
• We don’t use a photo in which anyone is recognisable. If a face or a person can be identified, the photo is out — we don’t blur and use it.
• We don’t publish your name, nickname, or account alongside it. If you’d like the credit, ask and you’ll get it.
• We don’t publish when the photo was taken, or the exact coordinates it was taken from. The place can be named; your movements are not the story.
• We only use content from accounts aged 16 or over.
• You can tell us to stop at any time — one message through Support. We’ll stop, and we won’t use that photo again.

Don’t submit content that is unlawful, infringing, private to others, or that depicts people without a lawful basis. We may remove content and act on reports at our discretion.

Acceptable use

• Play safely and lawfully — see our Safety & Play guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
• Don’t trespass, enter restricted or private areas, or submit locations that encourage others to.
• Don’t harass others, cheat, spoof your location, scrape, or attempt to break or overload the service.

AI-generated content

The clues, place descriptions and translations in the Game are generated by AI, and are marked as machine-generated in the data behind them. Generated text can be wrong, out of date, or strangely worded. Treat a clue as a hint and never as an instruction or a fact — what’s actually in front of you always wins.

Availability, disclaimers, and liability

The Game is provided “as is”. Clues, place data, and AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens in the physical world while you play. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination and changes

You can stop using the Game at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms or to comply with the law. We may update these Terms; material changes will be signaled in-app and continued use means acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in the courts there. Otherwise, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
